Why come to Penn's Table of West Chester to dine?

- Why come to PTWC to dine? Before I started to work at Penn's Table, I never knew what drew me to there every time I wanted to eat out for breakfast.  Their food was great, the service was great but what was it really?  Now that I have worked there for over a year I have finally figured it out with a little help from my co-workers and customers; the environment.  The atmosphere that you walk into is very warming and welcoming.  The restaurant is family owned and my co-workers do feel like family to me.  The girls and I make it our best effort to remember our customers, not because we have to but because we genuinely WANT too.  When you go some where to eat you want to feel wanted there, not like your just another person putting a tip on the table; at Penn's Table we do that.  We want our customers there, we love hearing about what you did the day/night/week before.  We want to hear about your birthday party, vacation, kids games, etc- that is what makes our day fun! We have regulars that come in everyday, one of them being a 98 year old man.  We wait for his smile to walk through the door and to give him a big hug.  So why come to PTWC? It's simple, we want you there, we want to get to know you, want to hear about your life and your day; we really do care. If you don't believe me, stop on in and see how you feel when you leave!:)

How to Make a Milkshake at Penn's Table

How to Make a Milkshake at Penn’s Table

In this tutorial I will be going through how to make a delicious milkshake at Penn’s Table.  On a daily basis a customer will order one of our milkshakes, any time of the year winter, spring, summer, fall we are known for them!  The process may seem simple, which it is but we take time and effort to make sure it is delicious.  The tutorial will walk you through step by step on how to make a milkshake of your choice with the equipment at the restaurant.

1.      First, ask the customer what flavor of milkshake they would like.

o   (Chocolate, Vanilla, Black & White, Chocolate Banana, or strawberry)
2.      Then, take the scooping blade to the freezer.  Take a metal milkshake cup, place this aside.  Open the freezer and begin to scoop large scoops of the flavor of choice into the metal cup.

o   Sometimes, if the ice cream is hard, a little trick is to run the metal blade under hot water to allow a smoother scooping process.

3.      Once the ice cream reaches about 4 inches from the top of the cup, take the gallon of milk out from the mini fridge.

4.      Fill the cup of ice cream with milk until the milk is visible over the ice cream.

  5.      Then take a long spoon, begin to mix and break up the ice cream.
o   By doing this, it will allow the machine to do less work and will allow for a quicker process.
6.      Once this is done, insert the metal cup into the milkshake machine.
7.      Push the cup up and the blade of the machine will begin to work its magic.
o   By pushing the cup up, the blade will start to turn very fast, if you need to stop for whatever reason, you can lower the cup and the machine will turn off.
8.      While the machine is moving, carefully take the spoon to push the ice cream around to make sure everything gets creamy.

9.   Once mixed, remove the cup from the machine.  Next, take a Styrofoam cup and pour the milkshake into the cup.
10.  If desired, add whip cream to the top of the milkshake.
o   Be sure to ask the customers if they would like this added touch first!
    11. Finally, deliver the milkshake of choice to the customer and watch their eyes light up!  Don’t forget to give them a straw!

Congratulations, you now know how to make a milkshake at Penn’s Table!  Now all you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy!
